Why start synchro at the developmental levels?

At the Northernettes, skaters have the opportunity to start with our Development Level teams (Aspire + Prelim) and gain the skills necessary to move up to our Nationally and Internationally competitive Juvenile, Novice, Junior and Collegiate Teams.

Skill Development: Beginning at a young age allows skaters to develop fundamental skills early, which form the foundation for more advanced techniques as they progress through the team levels.

Learning & Growing in a Team Setting:
Being part of a team exposes young skaters to a supportive community of peers, coaches, and mentors from our qualifying level teams. We aim to foster social skills, teamwork, and friendships that can last a lifetime. Learning the value of teamwork and collaboration from a young age lays a strong foundation for essential social and interpersonal skills.

Opportunities for Competition Early:
Starting at the developmental level allows skaters to gradually build their competitive experience, gaining confidence and skills to compete at higher levels as they mature and progress.

Fostering Passion for the Sport: Starting young allows skaters to discover and nurture their passion for synchro from an early age, fostering a lifelong love for the sport and the joy of participating in something they love!
